This arrangement also reflects the aim that the design teams entering the contest will be led by a landscape architect. Through improvements to the quality of the park, the introduction of a community sports hub, assorted indoor and outdoor recreational facilities, and improvements to connectivity within and around the site, the Council is aiming to create a premier open space within North West London for both residents and visitors alike.<\/p>\n<p>Entrants should consider how their proposals contribute to the evolving discussion about the role that green spaces will play in creating better places to live; how access to good quality green space can help to address issues that our communities are facing; and how to combat climate change.<\/p>\n<p>Entrants should refer to the various background documents and drawings available in the Resources section, which will give a comprehensive overview of the local area, immediate site context, opportunities, and constraints.<\/p>\n<p>The design team should be led by a Chartered Landscape Architect (Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute or <strong>an equivalent international Landscape body<\/strong>) or a Landscape Institute registered practice.<\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vce-text-block\"><div class=\"vce-text-block-wrapper vce\" id=\"el-2baf1311\" data-vce-do-apply=\"all el-2baf1311\"><div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a7f0bc7 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"a7f0bc7\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n<div class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\">\n<p><strong>There are four overarching themes that entrants should consider and incorporate into their proposals:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Climate change resilience<\/li>\n<li>Health and wellbeing<\/li>\n<li>Inclusive and accessible<\/li>\n<li>Biodiverse<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>There are eight site-specific objectives which entrants should consider and address as part of their entry:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create an attractive, welcoming park with a strong and distinctive identity<\/li>\n<li>Built infrastructure to be removed and replaced with a new building \u2013 the Community Sports Hub<\/li>\n<li>Existing facilities will be improved or replaced<\/li>\n<li>The park will be well connected - access to the park will be improved; The contest represents a unique opportunity to contribute to the evolving discussion about the role that green spaces will play in creating better places to live, how access to good quality green space can help to address issues that our communities are facing ,and how to combat climate change.<\/p>\n<p>The contest is open to suitably accredited professional teams. It is not open to student teams. Entries will be judged against a set of criteria defined in the brief.
